Question:  What are the Akashic Records?

Ever hear of the Book of Life, The mind of God, The Preserved Tablets, The Divine Scribe or the Book of the Living?  Sit down because this gets really heavy.

Imagine a suppository or a meta living library that contained all knowledge of your entire human experiences, thoughts and feelings since the beginning of time.

Imagine this living library also connecting your experiences in-sync with the entire history of all the objects and phenomena within the cosmic as it is associated with you, everyone and everything else. Imagine an ultimate collective consciousness, a universal ultimate intelligence or just a part of the “Mind of God.”

The Written Words

The Bible, the Torah and even the Quran describe a suppository of a universal and ultimate collective consciousness and unconsciousness records of meta experiences as all part of an existence of the heavenly ledgers.

The first Biblical stories were passed down orally and only written down later by various authors. Most Biblical scholars believe the Book of Genesis was the first book to be written down. It appears that the Book of Revelation was written between A.D. 43-47.

The Bibles Book of Revelation

“And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 

The Book of Life is referred to seven times in the Book of Revelation (3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12, 20:15, 21:27, 22:19). The Book of the Life (Psalm 69:28) contains the names of those who are alive upon this earth. In Christianity and Judaism, the Book of Life (Hebrew: ספר החיים, transliterated Sefer HaChaim; Greek: βιβλίον τῆς ζωῆς Biblíon tēs Zōēs) is the book that records the everyone and everything that everyone has ever done or did not do

In Islam it’s known as, al-lawhl al-mafouz لوح محفوظ (Book of Decrees or Preserved Tablet). The records have been referred to by different names including the Cosmic Mind, the Universal Mind, the collective unconscious, the collective subconscious, or

“No Calamity Befalls on The Earth Or In You But It Is Inscribed In The Preserved Tablet Before We Bring It Into Existence. Verily, That Is Easy for God” – Quran, 57:22.

Islam understands God has explicit decrees for His creations. These decrees are called, Shariat (شریعت) which means lawfulness and Shar (شرع) means law. Subsequently, every series of creation of God has laws categorically for them. These set(s) of laws are within the Preserved Tablet and the revelation is given accordingly:

“And It Is a Quran Which We Have Separated By Intervals That You Might Recite It To The People Over A Prolonged Period. And We Have Sent It Down Progressively” – Quran, 17:106.

Modern day spiritualist believe that the Akashic records are however completely objective and unbiased. The Akashic records will not focus on morality or judgement, or the labeling of things as good or bad. They simply record what has been, and what is.

In Ancient India, the Akashic concept originated from the Hindu philosophy of Samkhya. It was proclaimed by Samkhya philosophy that the Akashic records, automatically recorded in the elements of akasha, is one of the five types of elements visualized as existing in the elemental theory called Mahabhuta. This energy called Akasha, a combination of the Sanskrit word ākāśa, meaning hidden or secret space, with the root word kāś meaning simply “to be.”

In the Mahabharata mention is made of Chitragupta (lit. “hidden picture”). He is the son of Brahma and a minister of Dharma, and his duty is to examine a list of the good and evil actions of men (the Agrasamdhani) after their death.

“Nothing is lost of either piety or sin that is committed by creatures. On days of the full moon and the new moon, those acts are conveyed to the Sun where they rest. When a mortal goes into the region of the dead, the deity of the Sun bears witnesses to all his acts. He that is righteous acquires the fruits of his righteousness there.”

Metaphysical

Akashic records or hall of records as referred to by some is multi-dimensional library of intelligence encoded in a holographic light wherein all the information and wisdom pertaining to each, and every soul ever incarnated is recorded. Some people believe the Akashic records are comprised of the energy that makes up everything in the universe, throughout all of space and time.

All of this information is believed to be stored in the ethereal plane, a non-physical place which is part of the cosmic whole. Many people believe the Akashic records can be accessed by one who must be specifically trained and prepared to access this universal source of wisdom.

The famous clairvoyant and metaphysical teacher who is considered the founder of the modern New Age movement, said the Akashic records are God’s book of remembrance:

Upon time and space is written the thoughts, the deeds, the activities of an entity – as in relationships to its environs, its hereditary influence; as directed – or judgment drawn by or according to what the entity’s ideal is…
